Speechify in Bristol, UK, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Core Experiences team. You will build and maintain foundational services, design clear APIs and scalable systems that power the product experience across platforms.

You'll collaborate with product teams to scope projects, optimize performance, and ship backend services in Kotlin. Ideal candidates think in systems, move fast, and communicate well with designers, marketers, and PMs.

Qualifications

• Systems thinking and end-to-end design.
• Speed and decisiveness to ship quickly.
• Focus in a busy, remote startup environment.
• Collaboration with designers, marketers and PMs.
• Preferred tech: Kotlin Multiplatform; experience with GCP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and deliver cross-platform SDK.
• Optimize functionality for faster loading and improved parsing.
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
