Job summary

Rockstar Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (C++) to join our Core Security team. You will help secure our games, implement anti-tamper and anti-cheat technologies, and work with cross-functional teams across the studio.

The role demands 7+ years of C++ experience in software or security development, strong debugging and memory profiling skills, and the ability to see objectives through from concept to delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software or security development with C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement solutions to secure products from vulnerabilities.
• Research and implement anti-tamper and anti-cheat technologies.
• Debug exceptions related to obfuscation and tamper mechanisms.
• Profile code to meet performance and memory usage requirements.
• Follow SDLC and integrate with game teams.
• Test cross-platform software to ensure quality.

Salary: £29,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require 7+ years of experience working in a software or security development team using C++.
• We require experience with security and/or game development.
• We require excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on debugging C++ code.
• We require strong analytical skills focused on measuring system performance and memory use, along with the communication skills needed to generate solutions.
• We require the ability to take objectives independently from ideation to execution.

Responsibilities:

• We create and innovate solutions to better secure our products from known vulnerabilities.
• We research and implement anti-tamper technologies and anti-cheat technologies.
• We debug exceptions to resolve issues related to obfuscation transformations and anti-tamper mechanisms.
• We profile protected and unprotected code to meet expected performance requirements.
• We follow the software SDLC to integrate into the game teams operations.
• We test cross-platform software solutions to ensure quality.
