Job summary

RELX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and mentor across teams, driving technical excellence on our Enterprise API Platform. You will participate in design discussions, implement test-driven code, and support existing APIs for a high-quality developer experience.

You will help manage legacy and new platforms for Elsevier, focusing on onboarding APIs, portal usability, and rapid issue resolution while promoting collaboration and quality throughout the team.

Qualifications

• Proficient in designing and reviewing complex software components.
• Experience with test-driven development and code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across teams.
• Collaborate across product, design, and operations to deliver high-quality APIs.

Responsibilities

• Interface with team members to finalize requirements.
• Write and review detailed specifications for complex components.
• Complete complex bug fixes.
• Translate product requirements into software designs with peers.
• Implement development processes, coding standards, and reviews.
• Work across Agile/Waterfall environments with key stakeholders.
• Resolve complex technical issues as needed.
• Train entry-level engineers as directed by management.
