Job summary

Lockwood Publishing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Backend team. This remote role focuses on building scalable backend systems powering Avakin Life, with emphasis on Golang and microservices.

You will collaborate across teams, drive performance, reliability, and security, and contribute to a vibrant live game platform used by millions. You’ll work in a flexible, creative environment, engaging with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevOps practices, and have opportunities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in backend roles, with strong Golang skills.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and agile processes, with experience delivering software in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience designing and operating distributed backend systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a growth mindset.

Essential:

• 5+years experiencein software engineering

• Professional understanding of agile concepts and processes

• Good knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• Solid grasp of dev-ops concepts and processes

• Effective time management and estimation skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Self-motivated in work and willing to learn new skills.

• Ability to adapt to change with resilience.

• Understanding of back-end development best practices

• Strongexpertisein backend developmentprimarily in Golang, but alsowith languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or C#

• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, anddistributed computing

• Proficiencyin cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker).

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Strong background in designing scalable, high-performance systems.

Desirable:

• Experience in the gaming industry or large-scale interactive systems.

• Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka,RabbitMQor similar

• Proficiencywith monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack

• Experience with AI/ML integration in backend systems.
