Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Project Engineer to drive the technical execution and delivery of Software Factory projects. You will coordinate activities between engineering teams and Delivery Management, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule and quality.

The role requires active SC or DV clearance, on-site work in Reading, and experience in regulated MOD/Defence environments. Strong leadership and risk management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years’ experience in software, systems, or platform engineering projects.
• Desirable: Microsoft Azure DevOps certification.

Job description

Due to the nature of the role, canddiates must hold an active SC or DV Clearance.

This role is inside IR35

Security Clearance: Active SC clearance is mandatory DV clearance is preferred. The role requires on-site work and support for sensitive MOD/aerospace programmes.
Aerospace and Defence Experience: Demonstrable experience delivering architecture or engineering solutions within MOD, Defence Digital, UK aerospace, or similarly regulated environments.
Location: Reading, with a minimum of 50% of time required on site.

Job Purpose

The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical execution and delivery of Software Factory projects and initiatives. Acting as the primary technical interface between engineering teams and Delivery Management, the Project Engineer coordinates project activities, manages technical risks and dependencies, and ensures successful delivery against agreed scope, schedule, quality, and business objectives.

Key Accountabilities and Objectives

• Ensure compliance with engineering governance, processes, and standards.
• Support configuration and change management activities.
• Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure alignment.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years’ experience in software, systems, or platform engineering projects.

Desirable Qualifications
