Senior Software Engineer | .NET Core | Azure | Up to £60,000

We are working with a well‑established software company based in Nottingham with a long‑standing customer base across the public sector. They are expanding their core engineering team and looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join and make an immediate impact.

This is a genuinely interesting role for an engineer who wants variety, ownership and the chance to work with modern AI tooling in a sector where the quality of the software genuinely matters.

The Role

You will join the core product team, working on a platform that is actively onboarding legacy customers and expanding rapidly. The team works Agile, moving across multiple concurrent projects, so no two months look the same. You will own your tickets end to end, contribute vocally in ceremonies and be expected to drive solutions proactively rather than waiting for direction. This is a hit the ground running environment for someone who thrives with autonomy.

The tech stack centres on .NET Core 8, Azure, MVC and SQL Server, with React used across the frontend. The team is actively integrating AI tooling into the platform, including speech to text and agentic development capabilities, with careful consideration given to the compliance demands of the sector.

What They Are Looking For

• Proven experience operating at Senior Software Engineer level in a commercial environment
• Strong .NET Core and SQL Server skills, with MVC as a must
• Azure cloud experience, comfortable working with function apps and web applications
• Fullstack capability, with a backend lean acceptable provided frontend competence is there
• React experience is a strong advantage, React Native a bonus
• Experience with or a genuine interest in AI tooling, either in development workflows or integrated into products
• Proactive, outgoing and vocal in Agile ceremonies, able to take full ownership of work
• Must be eligible for Security Clearance

The Package

• Up to £60,000 base salary
• Nottingham based
