Job summary

EverQuote NI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the design and delivery of the main public facing insurance marketplace and supporting tools. You will work in a fast-moving, data-led environment with a test-and-learn mindset and strong emphasis on code quality.

You will mentor teammates, champion an Agent First approach, and collaborate with Product Managers and Architecture teams to deliver scalable cloud-based solutions using AWS, Kubernetes, and modern front-end/back-end stacks.

Qualifications

• A third level degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of professional programming experience at a software product company.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and observability.
• Hands-on back-end experience.
• Proficient in Typescript.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.

EverQuote is seeking a forward thinking Senior Software Engineer to join our market-leading insurance lead amplification platform!

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be at the heart of a platform that connects millions of American home and auto insurance customers to major and regional providers. You will be instrumental in the design and delivery of our main public facing platform and the sophisticated supporting tools that power it. Joining a highly capable, motivated, and fully empowered team, you will work in a fast moving, Agile, and data led environment where a "test and learn" mentality and A/B testing are core to our success. You will shine as a mentor, providing technical insight while being empowered to innovate in both solution delivery and developer productivity.

We are an Agent First organization. You will be responsible for pioneering agentic workflows within our SDLC, leveraging Anthropic Claude to boost developer productivity. Our team is committed to cutting edge innovation, leveraging Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and advanced analytics data aggregation to drive system feedback and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

• Architect and deliver high impact features for our main public facing insurance marketplace and internal toolsets.
• Drive innovation in UX and implement advanced AI patterns including RAG and MCP to enhance platform intelligence.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers within the team and organisation.
• Champion our Agent First philosophy by driving agentic enablement across our development lifecycle.
• Utilize analytics data aggregation to create feedback loops for continuous system and process improvement.
• Proactively engage with cross functional stakeholders including Product Managers and Architecture team.

Essential Criteria

• A third level degree in an Information Technology or Computer Science related field.
• You will have 5+ years of professional programming experience including experience at a software product company.
• You have experience in the following disciplines; supporting cloud platforms at scale (AWS), working with infrastructure as code, container orchestration environments (preferably Kubernetes) and observability platforms.
• Hands-on Back-End Experience.
• You are proficient in Typescript.
• You are experienced in continuous integration and deployment tools.

Desirable Criteria

• You have a security-first approach with a strong focus on secure delivery of application software and cloud infrastructure.
• You have experience with container based solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes.
• You are proficient in deploying infrastructure as code.
• UI development experience (e.g. React).
• Cloud native services (AWS).
• Engineering systems/applications at scale.
• Serverless architectures.
• Microservice based architecture.
• Continuous integration and deployment tools.
