Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the assigned software projects and report upon the development status to all the project/product stakeholders
  • Requirements capture from both internal and external customers
  • Design and develop software solutions for both in-house & external projects
  • Test and verification of the system and software using RF test equipment
  • Work closely with the hardware & firmware engineers to ensure that products are developed to satisfy the customer requirements
  • Diagnose software problems and implement solutions as required
  • Suggest & introduce new technologies to improve productivity, reliability, reusability, etc
What you’ll be involved in (continued)

The Senior Software Engineer will work within the existing software team to provide Systems Product Software integrated into military RADAR ESM receivers. The software controls the hardware setup, systems operation and processing of received data. On each project, they will be responsible for the majority of the software development life cycle.

The Senior Software Engineer will have the opportunity to support installation and training which may involve international travel.

This position will report directly to the Software Engineering Group Lead.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience in application development in C++ and C#
  • Experience writing services on Windows, Embedded Windows and embedded processors
  • Experience of OpenGL, SQL and data analysis techniques would be beneficial
  • Experience integrating with 3rd party software systems
  • Background in electronics particularly around military systems
  • Strong physics and mathematics skills
  • Ability to achieve UK SC clearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presenting and negotiating complex ideas with customers
  • Experience of supporting other areas of a business such as sales bid support would be ideal, but not essential
Qualifications
  • Good A-levels or equivalent in Maths, Physics, or other scientific subjects
  • Either:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computing, Physics, Maths, or Electronic Engineering or similar
  • Significant relevant experience in lieu of qualifications
  • Master’s degree or better would be advantageous
