Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited is seeking an SDE3 in Welwyn Garden City to provide technical leadership across the team, design and ship end-to-end stories, and take ownership of delivery. You will implement robust Java solutions and contribute to architecture with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will work with Microsoft Azure and Terraform, advocate CI/CD best practices, maintain quality documentation, and mentor fellow engineers, while building tools to improve efficiency and secure coding

Qualifications

• Solid experience delivering Java or other JVM languages; familiarity with JS/TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and infrastructure automation (Terraform).
• Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and monitoring/alerting tools.

As an SDE3 at Tesco, you are a mid-level individual contributor whose impact reaches across your team. You provide technical leadership for medium to large features, participate in their design, and take accountability for delivery. You are expected to implement and ship end-to-end stories, support other engineers, and start to build and prioritize your own work by understanding team problems and proposing solutions. This role is a steppingstone towards SDE3, with a focus on career development and technical growth.

• Developing high-quality software solutions, with proficiency in Java (Spring Boot or other frameworks).

• Requirements:
