Job summary

The Scale Factory in London is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test to design, build, and implement cutting-edge automation frameworks for client projects. You will work across multiple industries, delivering robust testing solutions and accelerating quality.

You will lead small automation tester teams, mentor engineers, shape QA strategy, and ensure delivery aligns with business needs. This hybrid role offers collaboration, growth opportunities, and exposure to diverse modern tech stacks.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for SC clearance.
• Significant experience in Agile environments.
• Strong coding in Java, C#, TS/JS.
• Automation testing with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or RestAssured.
• QA strategy and automation frameworks knowledge.
• Experience leading small tester teams.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools.
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins/CircleCI/GitLab/AzureDevOps.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Eligibility for SC clearance
• Significant experience in Agile environments (e.g., SCRUM, Kanban).
• Solid technical development background with strong coding skills in Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar
• Proven expertise in automation testing, with hands‑on experience using tools like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or RestAssured
• Strong knowledge of integration testing and automation frameworks
• Experience leading small teams of testers and contributing to the overall QA strategy
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, K6 or Neoload
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Bonus Points for:

• Previous experience in a consultancy environment
• Hands‑on coding experience in additional languages like Python, Ruby, Scala, PHP, or C++
