Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children’s Services in Crewe. You will work with complex cases in Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children, using restorative and relationship-based approaches to support children and families.

You will influence practice, mentor colleagues and contribute to service development, while continuing your own professional growth within a supportive leadership culture.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with registration or recognised equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience in children’s social work.
• Experience in complex safeguarding and inter-agency joint-working.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex and high-risk cases across Child in Need, Child Protection and Cared for Children.
• Undertake high-quality analytical assessments and develop plans focused on outcomes.
• Lead safeguarding interventions and contribute to multi-agency planning and decision-making.
• Build relationships with children, young people and families, ensuring their voice informs practice.
• Mentor less experienced social workers and contribute to reflective practice.
