Job summary

City of York Council is inviting applications for a compassionate and dedicated social worker to join our Disabled Children's Team in York. You will collaborate with children, young people and families to develop bespoke care plans and ensure timely, high-quality services.

Working in a high challenge and high support environment, you will use Signs of Safety and our Building Brighter Futures model, with ongoing training, regular supervision, and a flexible hybrid working pattern.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Preparation of clear, analytical, and coherent reports.
• Assessing need and writing children's plans.
• Ability to work independently, with timescales and conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Join the Disabled Children's Team in York to deliver bespoke care packages for children with complex disabilities.
• Support and supervise children, young people and families within a high challenge, high support environment.
• Contribute to building Brighter Futures practice model and ongoing training.
• Prepare reports and plans with the voice of children and families.
