Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the CP/CIN Team based at Beacon House in Ipswich. You will manage a varied caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention and support.

This role requires SWE registration, a recognised social work qualification and at least 3 years’ post-qualifying experience within a UK local authority, with strong CIN/CP experience, assessment, report-writing and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications

  • SWE registration is required.
  • Recognised social work qualification.
  • 3+ years post-qualification UK local authority experience.
  • Experience in CIN/CP case management.
  • Excellent assessment, analysis, report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-demand statutory service.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families.
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex needs.
  • Hold CIN and CP cases.
  • Develop, implement and review effective care plans.
  • Work with children, families, professionals and partner agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding is central to decision-making.
  • Attend meetings and multi-agency discussions.
  • Maintain accurate case records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Comply with legislation, safeguarding procedures and local policies.
