Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker for the Risk Outside the Home Team to support children and families affected by exploitation and extra-familial harm. You will lead high-risk assessments, develop care planning and work across police, health and education with trauma-informed, relationship-based practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration and post-qualifying experience.
• Experience working with exploitation, missing episodes and contextual safeguarding.
• Strong written and verbal communication and cross-agency collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex statutory cases involving exploitation, serious youth violence and online harm.
• Complete high-quality assessments analysing family strengths and contextual risks.
• Develop and progress Child in Need, Child Protection and Care Planning interventions.
• Deliver direct work with children, young people and families using trauma-informed approaches.
• Work with police, education, health, youth justice and community partners.
• Lead multi-agency meetings and contribute to safeguarding activity.
