Senior Social Worker and Designated Safeguard Lead

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker & Designated Safeguard Lead to work full-time for TCES based in Newham.

The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker & Designated Safeguard Lead job is up to £53,500 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  • Take professional responsibility for managing a highly complex caseload of pupils requiring intensive intervention.
  • Lead the coordination and delivery of multi-agency assessment & care planning for those pupils who have Early Help, Child in Need & Child Protection Plans & those children who are looked after.
  • Hold overall responsibility for coordination of partnership working and multi-agency liaison, planning, intervention, monitoring, and review, through effective partnership working and collaboration with all key stakeholders, parents/carers, commissioners, local authorities, and engaged professionals.
  • Ensure a high standard of case recording, case report writing where appropriate, as well as attendance at statutory meetings.
  • Fulfil the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at both Create Primary and Create in the Community Service Secondary provision.
  • Liaise with the Head of Safeguarding, Head of Service, Director of Children & Families when a child makes an allegation against a member of staff or a person in a position of trust.
  • Liaise with staff on matters of safety and safeguarding and act as a source of support, advice, and expertise for staff.
  • Play a leading role in practice development, help promote and sustain a learning culture, and mentor staff in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Take professional and personal responsibility for clear recording of analysis, judgements, and decisions by maintaining up-to-date case work records on the child’s management information system.
  • Provide Senior Leadership with performance data and analysis to help improve practice.
