Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a Senior Social Value lead to own social value propositions and partnerships across the business. You will work with the ESG team to build the partner network, shape strategy, and write social value content for major pursuits.

Regular travel to customers, partners and sector events is expected, with collaboration across senior leadership. You will design scalable social value programmes, manage a social value team, and ensure commitments are deliverable and measurable,

Qualifications

• Extensive Social Value and/or UK Public Sector consultancy experience.
• Experience of managing Social Value teams.
• Have strong existing UK government stakeholder relationships.
• Substantial experience in social value, employability, skills or community investment, including partnership delivery and bid work at scale.
• Deep working knowledge of the UK Government Social Value Model and MACs, with the judgement to challenge how a buyer has weighted them.
• Ability to use the Social Value Portal and National TOMs Framework critically, including proxy values considerations.
• Working knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 transparency notices, published contract performance data and impact measurement.
• Track record of building external partnerships that produced measurable outcomes, with examples you can discuss.

Responsibilities

• Own and run a rolling gap analysis against scoring criteria across data, process, partner coverage and delivery evidence.
• Decide how gaps get closed and justify investments in partnerships or new capabilities.
• Review scoring feedback after bids and act on evaluator feedback.
• Build social value capability across teams through guidance and training.
• Set the approach to transparency data under the Procurement Act 2023.
• Design scalable social value solutions that bid teams can tailor.
