Job description

This is a fixed term contract but very important and exciting role for Ridge and you will be key in taking Ridge from its current position to that of a leader and innovator in delivering social social value is an important strand of our Environmental Social Governance (ESG) our ED&I and reflects our culture and values and will become embedded in our project delivery and office-based activities.

You will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of our social value commitments for our projects across a range of will also play a pivotal role in developing innovative social value projects in collaboration with our multidisciplinary teams across the business.

Our projects are split into 3 role will cover region 3 which includes projects from our London Reading Winchester and Bristol will be based in the London office. Region 3 is a flagship region for Social Value and therefore must be a centre of excellence for all other regions to follow.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of social value projects
  • Lead workshops / meetings with the social value project consultants from across the Partnership to ensure best practice ideas are shared
  • Work in partnership with a range of stakeholders to deliver programmes supporting our 4 strategic social value outcomes. Equitable Economy Resilient Communities Responsible Business and Environmental Stewardship
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders including the client community groups VCSEs MSMEs schools local to the project to promote and raise awareness of Ridge social value activities.
  • Collation analysis and reporting of data to enable the assessment of performance against targets.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to improving performance and promoting Social Value to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams from across the business to design innovative social value projects relevant to each discipline.
  • Support the bid team in the production of project specific community plans.
  • Organise promote and manage stakeholder visits and associated programmes.
  • Attend functions and events in relation to community engagement.
  • Assist and support in coordinating a structured programme of communications PR and media relations promoting our social value projects.
  • Produce socially orientated project case studies.
  • Provide thought leadership articles on key areas of social value
  • Ensure Ridge leave a positive legacy within the communities we deliver our services.
Experience and Skills Required

To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about delivering social value and able to communicate with different stakeholders (within Ridge and with clients and external third parties helping us deliver social value).You will need to have experience of delivering social value employment as a Social Value Manager Social Value Coordinator Social Value Officer or Section 106 Officer or similar to be considered.

  • Experience in a social value or CSR role within a government organisation construction professional services or training / skills background.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation and project management skills
  • Strong literacy skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to engage and influence a range of key stakeholders
  • Confidence in meeting and working with a diverse range of people from a variety of backgrounds
