Job description
The Role

As the Senior Social Media Manager – Asset Management, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a social media strategy for the Asset Management function of M&G plc; M&G Investments.

You will be responsible for defining, planning, developing and implementing a proactive and integrated social media strategy to tell our story and elevate our brand in line with marketing and business priorities.

You will need to be able to lead multiple projects and campaigns and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the seamless delivery of outstanding social experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Head of Digital Marketing & Analytics, Campaign and Channel Marketing leads to develop and implement an organic social media strategy aligned to overarching business and marketing objectives.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement social media best practices, including training for the wider marketing team.
  • Expand our colleague advocacy programme with mentoring, content and analytics sharing initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with social, media and digital marketing agencies, ensuring seamless collaboration and the delivery of high‑quality campaigns.
  • Work with colleagues in the broader digital team to monitor social media journeys and their contributions to lead generation and market intelligence programmes.
  • Budget management as required.
  • Ensure social media activities for M&G Investments are compliant with M&G plc policies and mitigate associated risks.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Expert knowledge of B2B usage of LinkedIn, X, preferably within the Asset Management industry.
  • Experience using Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Oktopost or similar social media tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of best practice and emerging trends in social media with strong networks / links into other organisations and industry bodies.
  • Understanding of asset management product research and thought leadership journeys across the broader digital ecosystem.
  • Experience of working in/with complex organisations where key stakeholders are dispersed across the business and hold sometimes competing priorities and/or perspectives.
  • Detailed knowledge of social media analytics and their use to guide and shape online content.
  • Experience of using social media listening data and customer insight to develop user‑oriented content.
  • Experience in designing and implementing a team triage approach to crisis management.
  • Experience of working with insight/analytics teams to help to inform business strategies for other key business areas.
  • Personal attributes – highly collaborative, with an ability to work across organisation boundaries; strong customer focus and innovative mind‑set.
