Job Title: Senior Social Media Consultant

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Park

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Closing date: Wednesday 19th November

We are looking for a Senior Social Media Consultant to help lead the delivery of our social media strategy within a hub-and-spoke model, working closely with Brand and Marketing teams. This role is central to understanding social media behaviours and how they shape Royal London's purpose-led, customer-focused positioning.

As a trusted consultant, you will use your knowledge and experience to advise and guide wider teams, ensuring best practice is applied across all channels, with social considered as part of a holistic marketing activity. You'll provide strategic direction, consultation, and collaboration in campaign planning, helping teams make informed decisions that drive marketing effectiveness.

You will also work in close partnership with Brand, ensuring social activity aligns seamlessly with creative and brand objectives. The role involves delivering actionable insights through data analytics and managing our approach to amplification, advocacy, and community engagement across Royal London's social platforms.

About the role
  • Act as a key partner across the wider marketing teams, bringing expertise to shape social media activity that resonates across all audiences.
  • Manage and deliver the social media marketing plans, frameworks, and governance.
  • Collaboration with Brand & Marketing teams to improve the effectiveness of campaigns through data analysis and insight.
  • Manage through governance the Social Media operating model for the Group.
  • Build close relationships and support with Brand & Marketing stakeholders to consult on content creation.
  • Bring external learnings and techniques into consideration of the Social Media strategy and plans.
  • Embed the internal guidelines for Social Media.
About you
  • Deep understanding of Social Media landscape and role of content across different platforms.
  • Knowledge of using video editing and design software.
  • Understanding of Performance Marketing and Brand activation in Digital Media.
  • Understanding of output from digital insight platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Facebook etc.
  • Technical experience of Social Media platforms for business and understanding of end users consumption of the platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in measuring impact of different aspects of Social Media activity.
  • Articulate in defining and designing campaign requirements/criteria to business needs.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Collaboration, support colleagues deliver multiple campaigns, share best practice and facilitate ideas.
