Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Team Leader to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential setting in Wales. You will lead a team of social care workers, ensuring the highest level of care and reporting concerns to managers.

This role involves shift work including weekends, with opportunities for skill development through our Learning Academy and progression within Choice Care's Care Without Compromise division.

Care Without Compromise, a Choice Care sister company in Wales, supports people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs. With its own clinical team, Care Without Compromise has a particular expertise in understanding and supporting individuals with challenging behaviours. Specialist therapeutic services are integrated into the day to day person-centred support offered to the people we support, enabling them to progress towards a more meaningful and enjoyable daily life.

Staff are fully trained in Positive Behavioural Support and are encouraged to develop their skills and career with the company, providing consistency and stability in the services.

Overview of the role

The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and leadby example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern.You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference topeople’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Key duties

• Taking the lead withsupporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
• Supervising a team and assisting withthe overall management of the service
• Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
• Executing any tasks allocatedin a professional, timely and accuratemanner
• Supervisingand sharingmealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
• Assisting residents in their daily activitieswhether this be in or away from the service
• Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks

Where will youwork?

We provide flexible, individually tailored supported living services for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs. Our support packages range from a few hours a day to help with independent living skills, assist with shopping, cooking and personal care and provide access to resources in the community, right up to full-time, 24-7 specialist care. We work closely with local commissioners, care professionals and accommodation providers to support people with their own tenancy to live as independently as possible, while still being able to rely on the individual care and assistance they need. Just as in our residential services, our supported living services are highly personalised, structured around the requirements, capabilities and preferences of the people we support. These services comprise self-contained flats designed to support individuals who benefit from having their own separate tailored accommodation and support package.
