Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Team Leader to guide a team of social care workers in a residential setting. You will ensure high standards of care, report to seniors, and support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. The role includes weekend shifts on a rota basis and opportunities to participate in activities with residents.

We value patient, reliable, flexible team players with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the care sector is required.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead in supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment.
• Supervise a team and assist with overall management of the home.
• Liaise with managers and other shift leaders.
• Perform tasks professionally, timely and accurately.
• Share mealtimes with residents to promote positive attitudes toward food and dining.
• Assist residents in daily activities inside or outside the home.
• Use initiative to support residents during activities and day-to-day tasks.

Overview of the role

The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and leadby example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern.You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference topeople's lives, but you'll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Key duties

• Taking the lead withsupporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
• Supervising a team and assisting withthe overall management of the home
• Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
• Executing any tasks allocatedin a professional, timely and accuratemanner
• Supervisingand sharingmealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
• Assisting residents in their daily activitieswhether this be in or away from the home
• Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks

Where will youwork?

We provide flexible, individually-tailored supported living services for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs. Our support packages range from a few hours a day to help with independent living skills, assist with shopping, cooking and personal care and provide access to resources in the community, right up to full-time, 24-7 specialist care. We work closely with local authority commissioners, care professionals and accommodation providers to support people with their own tenancy to live as independently as possible, while still being able to rely on the individual care and assistance they need. Just as in our residential homes, our supported living services are highly personalised, structured around the requirements, capabilities and preferences of the people we support.
