Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide autonomous, expert care to patients with complex needs across the skin cancer pathway. You will support patients from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up, coordinating with families and a range of care providers.

The post holder will work closely with Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Oncology teams to ensure a seamless patient journey, contributing to policy

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to discuss highly sensitive matters with patients and relatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, autonomous specialist care to patients with complex needs across the skin cancer pathway.
• Coordinate care through multidisciplinary teams and with external trusts and community services.
• Contribute to development of clinical practice, standards of care, policies and guidelines within the service.
• Support patients through diagnosis, treatment, recurrence/metastatic disease and palliative care.
