Job summary

A leading IT consultancy in the UK is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for an initial three-month contract with potential extension. The role requires being onsite in Wokingham twice a week. Responsibilities include collaborating with Agile teams on deployment and infrastructure management, ensuring reliability, and implementing cloud-native observability stacks. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes. Security clearance is required before appointment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience in remote team collaboration.
• Deep expertise in OpenShift / Kubernetes and RedHat Linux.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and templating (Helm, Kustomize).
• Experience with CI / CD automation and IaC strategies.
• Security-first mindset with experience in regulated environments.
• Experience with VMware vSphere virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to automate deployment and monitoring.
• Ensure platform reliability and performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Implement and maintain cloud-native observability stacks.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Kustomize or Helm.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using Tekton and ArgoCD.
• Support and troubleshoot OpenShift Operators.
• Conduct security reviews and implement controls.
