Innova Recruitment seeks a Platform Engineer/SRE/Senior DevOps to shape platform reliability and engineering quality across three squads. Reporting to the CTO, you will set standards, select tooling and coach teams on modern observability and CI/CD practices.
You'll own the platform engineering practice, advance automation and enable development teams to deliver software faster and more reliably. Hybrid role in Manchester with up to £80k plus benefits.
Others build the platform, tooling and engineering practices that allow every developer to deliver better software.
This opportunity sits firmly in the second category.
Our client is investing heavily in its engineering capability as it continues to modernise its technology estate, evolve its digital platform and embrace AI-assisted software delivery. Reporting directly to the CTO, this is an opportunity to shape how platform engineering, reliability and quality evolve across three cross-functional product squads.
The Azure platform, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD foundations are already established. The challenge is to take them further by introducing modern observability, improving engineering standards, evolving automation and enabling development teams to deliver software faster, more reliably and with greater confidence.
Working alongside the CTO and Tech Leads, you'll own the platform engineering practice across the business, acting as the technical authority for platform reliability, observability and engineering quality.
This isn't a role where you'll become the bottleneck or own every deployment. Instead, you'll define standards, select tooling, build reusable frameworks and coach development teams.
You'll have genuine influence over technical direction, architecture and engineering culture while helping build the foundations for the next generation of AI-assisted software delivery.
You’ll be an experienced Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or Senior DevOps Engineer who’s comfortable influencing technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
You’ll ideally bring experience with:
Experience with .NET, React and TypeScript would be beneficial, although application development is not the focus of the role.
This is an opportunity to join at an exciting stage of their evolution.
You’ll influence platform strategy, modernise engineering practices, introduce meaningful observability and help create an environment where development teams can build and release software with confidence.
Salary, up to £80k + benefits inc. bonus and private healthcare.
They value in-person collaboration and operate a hybrid working model of three days per week.
If you enjoy improving platforms, enabling engineers and solving challenges at scale, this is a role where you’ll have genuine ownership and visible impact.
