Job summary

BREVAN HOWARD ASSET MANAGEMENT LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our small, agile engineering team. This role will drive reliability, scalability, and performance of our core platform with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.

The successful candidate will split time between providing operational support for critical systems and leading new infrastructure projects, applying infrastructure-as-code principles and cloud-native best practices to mitigate

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud provider.
• Expertise in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform and Helm for IaC and Kubernetes deployments.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure on GCP with Kubernetes.
• Champion automation across the SDLC using IaC practices.
• Own declarative infrastructure with Terraform and Helm for deployments.
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging for visibility.
• Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs and participate in post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with software teams to guide deployment strategies and best practices.
• Take ownership of projects from inception to production operation.

WhatYouWillDo

• Design&Build:Architect,deploy,andmaintainhighlyscalableandreliableinfrastructureonGoogleCloudPlatform(GCP)usingKubernetesandInfrastructure-as-Codetools.
• Automation:Championautomationacrosstheentiresoftwaredevelopmentlifecycle(SDLC),utilizingIaC,PythonandBashtoreducetoilandimproveoperationalefficiency.
• Infrastructure-as-Code(IaC):OwnandevolveourdeclarativeinfrastructureusingTerraformforcloudresourcesandHelmforKubernetesapplicationdeployment.
• Monitoring&Observability:Implementandmanagerobustmonitoring,alerting,andloggingsolutionstoensureclearsystemvisibilityandproactiveissueidentification.
