Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction in Oakham is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead construction projects from inception to completion. You will manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring safety, on-program delivery and budget adherence while upholding quality standards.

The role requires proven site management experience with main contractors, delivery of projects from £5m-£30m, strong leadership, and qualifications such as SMSTS and CSCS.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Site Manager with a main contractor.
• Experience delivering projects £5m-£30m.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of UK construction processes and health & safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site teams on construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour to hit milestones.
• Ensure works comply with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
• Monitor quality across the build and drive a zero-defects culture.
• Manage project programmes and identify risks or delays.
• Chair site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants and the project team.
• Ensure materials, labour and plant are coordinated effectively.
• Maintain accurate site records and reporting.
• Foster a collaborative and positive working environment on site.
