About the Company:

Our client is a reputable civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure schemes across the region. With a strong legacy in highways, public realm, and complex groundworks, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to take a lead role on a significant highways project.

The Role:

As Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of all on-site activities on a major highways scheme. You will lead construction teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all on-site construction activities for the highways project.
• Manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to health & safety standards, including RAMS, toolbox talks, and site audits.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, engineers, and client representatives.
• Monitor progress against programme and ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee traffic management arrangements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage quality control processes including inspections, reporting, and sign-offs.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and H&S documentation.
• Identify and mitigate risks, delays, or issues impacting delivery.

About You:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within highways or major civils.
• Strong understanding of road construction, drainage, kerbing, earthworks, utilities, and associated highway works.
• Background working on local authority, National Highways, or major infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Solid understanding of health & safety legislation, traffic management standards, and CDM regulations.
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational abilities.
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), First Aid, and relevant highways certifications (e.g., NRSWA) are desirable.
