• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Liaise with head office, NHBC, and local authority departments.
• Order materials to keep the build programme on track.
• Oversee required NHBC inspections.
• Conduct customer handovers and manage post-completion defects.
• Promote a culture of safety, progress, quality, and innovation.

Our client, a leading name in the housing sector, is seeking a Senior Site Manager to join their team on a residential development in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high quality new build homes while working for a company that truly values its people.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the development to maintain and deliver the build programme in line with budgets and forecasts.
• Taking full responsibility for site staff and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Liaising with head office, NHBC, and local authority departments.
• Ordering materials in a timely manner to keep the build programme on track.
• Overseeing all required NHBC inspections.
• Conducting customer handovers and managing any post‑completion defects in partnership with the Customer Care team.
• Promoting a culture of safety, progress, quality, and innovation on site.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience managing high volume new build housing developments and strong leadership skills.

You will also demonstrate:

• Extensive experience managing labour only contractors.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent understanding of construction build programmes and commercial awareness.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction processes and building regulations (NHBC, Building Regs, etc.).
• Proven ability to achieve customer satisfaction targets.
