Senior Site Manager Overview

Our client is looking for a strong Senior Site Manager to join a premier Tier 1 Contractor. This is an opportunity to take a leadership role on some of the most significant commercial developments in around Leicester.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Managing the day‑to‑day delivery of the project, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with the construction programme and technical specifications.
• Sub‑contractor Management: Coordinating various trade packages, chairing weekly progress meetings, and ensuring all sub‑contractors adhere to rigorous quality and safety standards.
• Health, Safety & Environment: Maintaining an impeccable safety record on‑site. Responsible for implementing RAMS, conducting site inductions, and ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Quality Control: Implementing a "Right First Time" culture. Oversee quality inspections, manage the snagging process, and ensure the final handover meets Tier 1 expectations.
• Commercial Awareness: Working closely with the surveying team to monitor variations, manage site costs, and identify potential risks to the budget or timeline.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact for architects, engineers, and the client, providing regular updates on milestones and technical challenges.

Required Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for a professional who demonstrates both the technical "know‑how" and the leadership presence required for high‑value schemes.

• Experience: Proven time served in a Site Management role, specifically working on high‑value commercial projects for a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern construction methods, structural steel, RC frames, and high‑end fit‑out requirements.
• Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (preferred but not essential with relevant experience).
• Software Literacy: Proficiency in project management software (such as Aconex, Procore, or Field View) and a solid grasp of Microsoft Project or ASTA Powerproject.

Certifications

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
• CSCS Black Card (ideally)
• First Aid at Work
