The Company

We are representing a well‑established regional main contractor with a turnover in excess of £60M-£70M. The business has a strong reputation for consistent growth and high‑quality project delivery across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and leisure sectors. Due to continued workload, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their team.

The Role

This is a permanent position offering long‑term stability, strong project exposure and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with CDM Regulations and company safe working practices
  • Assisting with construction programmes, method statements, risk assessments and action plans
  • Setting out works using total stations and automatic levels
  • Checking works on site for compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Agreeing site measurements and maintaining accurate records with client representatives
  • Maintaining drawing files, registers and site filing systems; liaising with the design team to ensure current and updated information is used
  • Taking off quantities from drawings to assist with measurements and requisitions
  • Supporting the preparation of construction completion and handover documentation
  • Ensuring works are delivered to a high standard of quality in line with specifications and best practice
  • Maintaining all required quality records; working with site management to ensure compliance with legislation, health & safety policies and procedures
  • Promoting open, honest and effective communication across site teams; leading by example with regard to safety culture and behaviours
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record working for contractors, ideally within the leisure, residential or healthcare sectors. An Engineering Degree is not essential; however, a solid and stable employment history is preferred.

  • BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction (desirable but not essential)
  • Stable employment history with reputable main contractors (essential)
  • Proven levelling and surveying experience
  • Competent using total stations and automatic levels
  • Strong understanding of site engineering processes and quality control
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient with construction software and IT systems
