Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Shift Manager to lead and manage operations within the Press Shop in Washington. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, manage teams, and ensure high-quality production while achieving operational targets. A Level 5 qualification in Operations Management is required, along with proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Competitive salary of up to £63,600 per annum offered.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to Level 5 (or equivalent) in Operations Management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or frontline management role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of QCDMS, continuous improvement tools, and KPI management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Lead day-to-day press shop operations to achieve targets across quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
  • Manage and develop supervisors and operators through coaching, mentoring, and structured performance reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence using QCDMS principles.
  • Ensure effective shift planning, manpower management, and compliance with safety and HR processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver departmental and strategic objectives.

The Role

You’ll lead and manage a shift within the Press Shop, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations. The role carries full accountability for achieving key operational KPIs, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a proactive, performance‑driven culture across your team.
