Job summary

Western Health And Social Care Trust in Londonderry is seeking a Shift Leader Band 6 to provide short-term care breaks and medium/long-term placements for children and young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or autism.

You will supervise staff, develop care plans, attend reviews, ensure safety and records, and foster a supportive home-like environment while upholding trust policies and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Must have a Degree/Diploma in Social Work and be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or eligible for registration.
• Minimum 2 years post-registration experience.
• Full driving licence and access to a car are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop professional relationships with children/young people and carers to meet needs.
• Contribute to LAC Reviews and care planning processes.
• Lead and supervise staff, including students, and provide regular supervision.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in shift leader rota covering evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Ensure safety, confidentiality, and high standards of care and record-keeping.
