We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Shift Clerk to join our Customs Insights team in Dover. As a Senior Shift Clerk, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our customs clearance operations and ensuring smooth and efficient processes.

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off (Day 1 & 2 0700 – 1900, Day 3 & 4 1900 – 0700)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising a shift team in the absence of the shift supervisor.
  • Ensuring all tasks assigned to the shift team are completed in a compliant manner.
  • Completing daily customs clearance work.
  • Assisting customs clerks with paperwork completion.
  • Processing amendments and correspondence to customs.
  • Completing excise declarations.
  • Supporting other operational duties as required.
What we're looking for:
  • Minimum 2 years experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures and principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience with customs clearance software.
  • Excellent IT literacy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
