Qualifications

  • Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic levels).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all works comply with C.D.M. Regulations and safe working practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure setting out of the works is correctly done.
  • Check site work for compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Agree on site measurements and records with client's staff.
  • Assist in maintaining drawing files and site filing system.
  • Liaise with the design department for updated information.
  • Assist in preparation of construction completion documentation.
  • Ensure quality of works in alignment with specifications.
  • Maintain the required quality records.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and company safety policies.
  • Establish good communication lines.
  • Lead by example in terms of safety behaviours.

Job Summary

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Senior Site Engineer, Site based at Wanlip STW (Leicester). You will report directly to the Site Manager and lead an existing team of Site/Setting Out Engineers that provide setting out and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification in an entirely safe manner, whilst maintaining appropriate site records. Key responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure setting out of the works is done to correct standards by yourself and the site team.
  • Check site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
  • Agree on site measurements and records with the client’s staff as required.
  • Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filing system.
  • Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used.
  • Take off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation.
  • Ensure that the works are constructed to good quality in line with the specification and good working practice.
  • Ensure that the required quality records are maintained.
  • In conjunction with other site staff, ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with current legislation, the company health & safety policy, procedures and safe working practices.
  • Ensure good, honest and open lines of communication are established.
  • Lead by example in terms of safety behaviours.
Essential Qualifications
  • Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic levels).
Desirable Qualifications
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • SSSTS.
  • CSCS Supervision card.
  • EUSR SHEA Water.
  • BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction (minimum).
  • Experience on water & wastewater sites.
