My client is an established firm in the manufacturing sector currently looking for a Service Engineer/Technical Engineer to assist with breakdowns and remedial work across various UK sites. The ideal candidate is commutable from Manchester / Greater Manchester.

Other suitable job titles include Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Repair Engineer, Remedials Engineer, Field Engineer, Multi-skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Technical Engineer, Installation Engineer, or Commissioning Engineer.

The Role - Service Engineer:

1. To service and maintain a range of state-of-the-art spray booths and ancillary equipment.
2. Cover travel throughout the UK.
3. Work in teams of 2, attending technical breakdowns on-site.
4. Perform machine retrofits and control system/energy upgrades.
5. Read wiring diagrams and design simple electrical circuits.
6. Work with single and three-phase motors and power supplies.
7. Schedule technical work.
8. Fit, set up, and re-programme variable speed drives or VSD/VFD.
9. Perform basic PLC software programming.
10. Carry out mechanical repairs on fans, fan bearings, and motors.
11. Communicate effectively with customers and on-site engineers.

The Candidate - Service Engineer:

1. Experience servicing, commissioning, maintaining, or installing industrial plant/manufacturing machinery.
2. Experience fault finding or installing VSDs.
3. Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
4. Hold a valid Electrical Qualification: City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or HNC/HND equivalent.
5. Ability to change mechanical components such as fans, bearings, motors, and shafts.
6. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
7. Good communication skills and flexibility to stay overnight when required.
8. Experience with natural gas / LPG burners is advantageous.

Salary and Package - Service Engineer:

1. Starting salary up to £43,600-£46,800 per annum (£21-£22.50 per hour).
2. Salary dependent on experience.
3. 40-hour workweek with guaranteed overtime (OTE £55,000+).
4. Door-to-door travel.
5. Private healthcare, company van, and fuel card.
