Job summary

Sanderson Government and Defence seeks a Senior Service Designer to lead service design workstreams for public sector programmes. You will own the design approach, outputs and outcomes, ensuring user-centred, accessible solutions aligned with client objectives.

In this role you will mentor colleagues, support business development, and contribute to practice growth within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience designing services and products.
• Proven experience leading service design workstreams across multiple projects or clients with minimal supervision.
• Strong expertise in Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and principles.
• Experience selecting and tailoring service design methods and artefacts.
• Strong workshop facilitation and design sprint experience.
• Excellent storytelling and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end service design activities from ideation to solution delivery.
• Tailor service design approaches to client needs and maturity levels.
• Develop high-quality service design artefacts and ensure impact.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to capability development.
• Support business development through proposals and client engagements.
