Job summary

Lewisham Council in London is seeking a Senior SEN Caseworker to join our SEN Team (Birth to NC Year 7). The role is based primarily at Kaleidoscope, 32 Rushey Green, London SE6 4JD, with a hybrid approach that includes office and home work.

The successful candidate will manage EHCP caseloads, secure suitable placements and ensure statutory responses to EHC annual reviews, contributing to positive outcomes for CYP with SEND.

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy and numeracy.
• Ambitious for CYP with SEND and aims to help them meet aspirations and achieve better outcomes.
• Experience with CYP with SEND and their families.
• Sound knowledge of the legal frameworks and experience working within these frameworks.
• Committed to implementing the Council's Equal Opportunities Policies.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team of Senior SEN case officers and have responsibility managing a cohort of EHCPs.
• Secure appropriate placements and education for CYP with an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP).
• Ensure the LA meets its statutory obligations in response to EHC annual reviews.
• Be responsible for managing the EHC needs assessment process.

Location

The job is primarily based in Kaleidoscope, 32 Rushey Green, London SE6 4JD but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office/settings and from home on a regular basis.
