Job summary

The Economist Group is seeking a senior security engineering leader to drive the cyber-security programme, shaping strategy and delivering practical security outcomes across cloud, applications and data. You will manage a team of security engineers and analysts, coordinating with partners to protect customer, subscriber, editorial, commercial and employee data.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading security engineering teams.
• Track record delivering complex security programmes across multiple teams.
• Experience with AWS security and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiar with secure CI/CD and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security engineering team and define the delivery roadmap.
• Translate business risk into practical security outcomes and measurable engineering plans.
• Oversee security projects, governance, and partner management across the organisation.
• Drive secure software development practices, including code and dependency scanning, IaC scanning and secrets management.
• Enhance automation in security operations to improve coverage and response times.
