Job summary

Amazon Web Services in London is seeking a senior security engineer to help build and manage services that detect threats and automate mitigation across our infrastructure.

The role involves collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and security teams to develop innovative solutions, protect customers, and lead security programs for personnel and cyber security across our cloud platform.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS or other cloud offerings.
• Experience identifying security issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
• Experience in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
• Experience scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common language.
• Experience in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques.
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services.
• UK national and able to obtain/maintain UK Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Help build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across our infrastructure.
• Work with data scientists, software development engineers, and other security engineers across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions.
• Protect our cloud for all customers and preserve customer trust.
• Use the full power and breadth of AWS technologies to build services that proactively protect customers from security threats.
• Work with UK customers to operate and continuously improve industry-leading security programs and processes.
• Manage the underlying security programs and processes for personnel security, physical and logical accreditations, education, awareness and training, assurance, and cyber security.
• Interact with senior stakeholders, including CISOs, CTOs, their staffs, and our senior leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers, data scientists, and engineers from non-traditional backgrounds through one-on-one mentoring and code reviews.
