Job summary

Trail of Bits is seeking security experts to push the boundaries of red team engagements using AI-driven tooling and formal methods. You will evaluate specifications, read proofs, and uncover gaps that attackers could exploit across OS internals, networks, and cryptographic components.

Join a remote-first, UK-based team that conducts week-long sprint engagements and collaborates with partners globally to deliver rigorous security assessments and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Proven red-teaming on production software with exploitable results.
• Experience applying formal methods to designs and code.
• Ability to read specifications and proofs and reason about what a machine-checked proof does not establish.

Responsibilities

• Break systems designed to resist attackers and demonstrate exploits with working proof of concept.
• Map the real attack surface of a proof including threat model and assumptions.
• Build AI-driven tooling for discovery, triage, and automated exploit generation.
• Write security assessments and clearly document what held or failed under evaluation.
• Publish tooling and methodology and share learnings across engagements.
