Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Security Detection & Response Analyst II in Chester to join the GIS Monitoring and Triage team. You will drive end-to-end detection, investigation, and response, leveraging MITRE ATT&CK and automation to improve MTTR and reduce noise.

The role requires cross-domain security expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to guide junior staff while coordinating with stakeholders in a fast-paced enterprise security program.

Qualifications

• Experience in security operations, incident response, detection engineering, or related cybersecurity functions in production.
• Ability to manage end-to-end investigations from triage through post-incident improvement.
• Experience building and tuning detections and reducing false positives.
• Strong log analysis and data correlation using KQL, SPL, SQL.
• Hands-on with containment, response actions, and automation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Operate end-to-end detection and response lifecycle, analysing logs to establish attack scope and root cause.
• Build, validate, tune, and optimize detection logic using MITRE ATT&CK.
• Coordinate security event response activities: containment, isolation, escalation, remediation.
• Improve automation and SOAR workflows to reduce MTTR and noise.
• Document findings with timelines and lessons learned for stakeholders.
• Identify gaps in monitoring and drive continuous improvement in detection and automation.
• Support integration of partner use cases into detection workflows.
• Guide and mentor junior team members toward professional goals.
