Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd. is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Consultant to lead delivery of cyber and information security across the engineering lifecycle.

The role requires engaging with engineering teams and external stakeholders to ensure products meet security standards, from requirements through to in-service support. A strong degree in engineering or cyber security, plus professional certification, is expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in an engineering discipline and/or cyber security discipline, or equivalent recognised professional cyber security certification.
  • Background in systems engineering (desirable).
  • Proven delivery experience in a Cyber/Engineering Role.
  • Experience with MOD accreditation and secure by design processes (ISN2023/09).
  • Experience managing risks and services aligning with regulatory and customer expectations.

Job Description: Salary Range: £44,171 - £63,000 Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.

The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers. Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Consultant to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on supporting the delivery of security aspects to the company’s core products to external stakeholders (inclusive of hardware and software engineering, Operational Technology, Information Technology). This requires engaging with engineering teams and delivery of all facets of cyber and information security related to the delivery across the engineering lifecycle - from requirements all the way through to in-service support and maintenance.

You will be supported in this role as part of a larger team of consultants, engineers and product domain specialists. In addition to a passion for cyber and information security, you really must have:

Qualifications

A degree in an engineering discipline and/or degree in a cyber security discipline, OR equivalent recognised professional cyber security certification. Knowledge and Demonstrable Experience Background in systems engineering (desirable). Proven delivery experience in a Cyber/Engineering Role. Involvement in MOD accreditation and secure by design processes (ISN2023/09), associated policies and practices across the lifecycle. Managing risks and services in accordance with customer, regulatory and legislative expectations. Experience outside of traditional enterprise IT scenarios extending to proprietary and open-source software, firmware and electronic hardware. Exposure to product and software architectures, including product and software development lifecycles and security. Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) (in alignment to standards such as IEC62443). Developing, evaluating and analysing design constraints, and detailed system and security designs as they pertain to the cyber domain. Experience working with cyber and security requirements down to the system control level. Experience conducting cyber and information security risk assessment activities including threat modelling, vulnerability analysis and analysis of mitigations. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
