Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking a Senior Security Architect to lead design and governance of security architectures across digital, cloud and data-led solutions. The role requires translating risks into actionable controls and ensuring security is embedded in both agile and traditional delivery environments.

You will own end-to-end SSEN Distribution security architecture, oversee risks and compliance, and work with cross-functional teams to meet NCSC, NIST and IEC 62443

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and governing security architectures in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud security including IAM, network protection, encryption, monitoring and zero-trust concepts.
• Hands-on threat-modelling experience and translating threats into technical controls.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like NIS and related standards; applying them to design.
• Professional certifications (CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and assurance of security architectures across digital, cloud and data-driven solutions.
• Facilitate threat-modelling activities to identify risks, attack paths and mitigations.
• Ensure consistent application of security controls across the business unit and reuse patterns.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering and delivery to embed security in agile and traditional delivery models.
• Provide end-to-end ownership of SSEN Distribution security architecture, including risks, controls and secure operations.
