A leading technology firm in Birmingham is seeking a Security Architect to lead critical security workstreams, driving the IT security strategy across their operations. The ideal candidate will design compliant architectures, collaborate with stakeholders, and possess a strong background in enterprise-grade security practices, as well as relevant certifications. This hybrid role requires 2 days on-site work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing enterprise-grade security architectures.
• Strong knowledge of ISO27001, CES, and CES+ frameworks.
• Solid understanding of modern infrastructure, cloud, and application security.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, compliant architectures aligned with enterprise strategy
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and DDaT leadership to roadmap secure solutions
• Lead and guide Solution Architects and Technical Delivery teams
• Maintain a forward-looking security technology roadmap
• Review supplier proposals for compliance and quality
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks across key IT projects
• Act as a trusted advisor on security strategy and technology selection

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven experience designing enterprise-grade security architectures
• Strong knowledge of ISO27001, CES, and CES+ frameworks
• Solid understanding of modern infrastructure, cloud, and application security
• Excellent communication skills - translating technical detail into business insight
• Strategic mindset with a pragmatic approach to risk and solution design
• Experience with Microsoft security technologies (e.g., Defender, Sentinel) is a plus
• Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
