The Bank of England is seeking a Personal Security and Safety Analyst in London to assess, manage and mitigate security risks for personnel and operations. The role focuses on business travel, events and referrals related to individuals who may pose a risk to staff and the Bank.
Successful candidates will analyse threats, advise on mitigations, and support the Bank’s risk appetite. Strong judgement, communication and discretion are essential.
The Security division within the Bank mitigates risks to the Bank's property, infrastructure, people, services or assets being compromised, harmed, damaged, stolen or disrupted either by external actors and or people exploiting their access to Bank assets or premisses.
This role sits within the Personnel Security function of the Bank, protecting the Bank and its people from insider risk and extending the protection of the Bank beyond its physical buildings. The personal safety and security role plays a critical role in safeguarding employees and ensuring compliance with relevant Bank policies. The role involves assessing, managing, and mitigating risks associated with personal security to the Banks operations and its people. This primarily relates to business travel, including working from abroad. The analyst will monitor global security events, conduct risk assessments, and provide guidance to protect travellers and maintain operational continuity. It also includes the investigation and risk assessing events being hosted by the Bank both internally and externally, particularly considering issues like invite lists, the landscape of current affairs, domestic and geopolitical risks, and location. Investigating and making decisions and or recommendations on referrals into the threat inbox of individuals who may pose a risk to the Bank and its people. Supporting the risk assessment and mitigation of Bank staff and or specific teams that may be at a heighten risk due to their seniority, areas of work, public exposure.
This role requires analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to react promptly to potential threats. The analyst works proactively to develop and implement strategies that minimise risks and ensure a secure environment.

Salary and Benefits Information
The salary for this position is £39,280 - £44,190
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.

National Security Vetting Process
Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy.
