Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Birmingham is seeking an Applications Engineer to lead protection and control system designs. This role involves ensuring technical excellence in deliverables, preparing documentation, and liaising with clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in engineering and strong knowledge of industry standards. The position requires onsite presence 2-3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience or 9 years in lieu of HNC/HND.
• Knowledge of Transmission/Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV).
• Experience in the electricity supply industry.
• Working knowledge of industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, check, and approve protection and control schemes.
• Provide technical support and work breakdown structures.
• Create project updates in line with program schedules.
• Assist in preparation of design documents and specifications.
• Liaise with clients and lead meetings confidently.
