Job summary

Vallum Associates is seeking a Senior SDET for a 12-month contract in London, hybrid with three days onsite. You will design and implement test automation frameworks for data-driven solutions, API testing, and cloud-native platforms using Java and Azure.

The role emphasizes TDD/BDD, CI/CD integration (GitLab), and ensuring quality across large-scale data pipelines running on Azure and Databricks, with a strong focus on enterprise-grade testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong Java programming experience with focus on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with TDD/BDD and related frameworks (JUnit, Cucumber).
• Experience in REST API testing and API validation.
• Understanding of front-to-back (F2B) testing for enterprise platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab integration.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable test utilities for end-to-end testing.
• Create and execute test cases for RESTful API validation, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Validate large-scale data pipelines built on Databricks for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business rules.
• Implement and enforce TDD/BDD practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure quality gates in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Enable cloud-native automated testing approaches aligned with Azure-based architectures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize automated test scripts for performance and maintainability.
