Qualifications

Job description

Are you an experienced Chinese speaking Scientist with experience of Metabolomics / Lipidomics?

The salary for this Senior Scientist role is $150,000 - $200,000 basic plus company benefits.

The Role:

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of LC-MS metabolomics / lipidomics workflows: sample preparation, method development, validation, data collection/analysis, and technical report writing.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mass spectrometers and LC systems (e.g., AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500 series, Thermo Q Exactive Plus, triple quadrupole instruments).
• Design and implement innovative LC-MS/MS detection methods to address complex matrices and sensitivity/specificity requirements.
• Write and follow SOPs; participate in drafting validation protocols and GLP-compliant documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define study scope, develop analytical strategies, and clearly communicate risks, timelines, and results.
• Support instrument validation, maintenance plans, and inventory management of critical standards/reagents.
• Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with metabolomics / lipidomics literature and introduce relevant advancements (methods, reagents, software).

The Person:

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Sciences (with 2+ years of post-graduation experience) or Master's degree (with 5+ years of experience).
• Solid practical experience in targeted metabolomics LC-MS method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in operating platforms such as AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500, Thermo Q Exactive Plus, and triple quadrupole mass spectrometers.
• In-depth understanding of LC-MS assay validation guidelines; familiar with GLP compliance documentation requirements.
• Experience in metabolite identification/spectral analysis and small molecule quantification.
• Proficient in biological sample pre-treatment techniques (protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, solid-phase extraction) and LC separation methods (reversed-phase, HILIC).
• Proficient in mass spectrometry data processing systems, with clear scientific communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring on-time delivery.
