Job summary

SRG is seeking a Senior Scientist – Assay Development to lead the development of next-generation diagnostic assays and provide scientific leadership within an innovative, early-stage health technology business focused on women's hormonal health.

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for defining assay development strategy, leading scientific decision-making, and driving analytical performance from concept through validation, while collaborating with engineering, clinical, regulatory and

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Bioengineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive industry experience in assay or diagnostic development.
• Hands-on experience with immunoassays, including ELISA-based technologies.
• Experience taking assays from concept through validation, ideally toward commercialization.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and statistical skills.
• Experience working with human biological samples (blood, saliva, urine).
• Excellent scientific communication and independent working capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of quantitative immunoassays and related diagnostics.
• Define scientific strategy and development roadmaps.
• Drive assay optimisation for sensitivity, specificity, precision and stability.
• Establish best practice for experimental design and data integrity.
• Design and execute analytical validation studies.
• Support development of point-of-care or biosensor technologies.
• Author technical and regulatory documentation; ensure design controls.
• Collaborate with engineering, clinical, regulatory and product teams.
• Mentor future scientific hires and build capability.
