Job summary

Bishop Stopford School is seeking a Senior Science Technician to manage the Science Faculty's practical resources, and to maintain and prepare equipment and materials for chemistry practicals.

The role ensures a safe and secure environment and supports students and colleagues across the faculty.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience of working in a laboratory setting (school or industry).
• Up-to-date knowledge of A level chemistry practical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Science Faculty's practical resources and stock.
• Maintain and prepare equipment and materials for practical work.
• Ensure a safe, secure and compliant laboratory environment.
• Support and collaborate with colleagues and students, with leadership in a laboratory setting.

Job description

This is a rare opportunity to join our thriving Science faculty as Senior Science Technician. You will be responsible for managing the Science Faculty’s practical resources, maintaining and preparing equipment and materials and ensuring a safe and secure environment.

You will have;

• a recognised qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
• experience of working in a laboratory setting (e.g. school, industry)
• up-to-date knowledge of A level chemistry practical requirement

You will be;

• an excellent communicator;
• committed to delivering support to colleagues and students
• have experience of leading in a laboratory environment
• have a good understanding of health, safety and welfare regulations and best practice
